Wikus vd Merwe has been in the ICT profession for the past 26 years. Wikus held various positions within Telkom South Africa, his current duties as a Senior Manager within the Telkom Group Centre for learning focuses on designing and managing Human Performance Improvement solutions for internal and external clients.
Wikus has delivered various papers in this regard at various CTO events in Toronto Canada, Abuja in Nigeria and Cape Town in South Africa. Educational qualifications include various ICT technical diplomas as well as a Masters Degree (Cum Laude) in Human Resource Management obtained from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, he is currently registered to complete his Phd in Human Resource Management.
Recent achievements include managing the implementation of a Private Public Partnership program in collaboration with the South African Department of communications. Wikus received the South African chapter of the ASTD’s presidential award for achievement during in 2010. This project ensured work placement for 1500 unemployed graduates within a two year period.
Wikus is currently a board member of the South African ASTD chapter
