Zain Khan is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) specializing in Telecommunications and Information Technology. He heads a highly specialized consulting group in Toronto. After a 16-year stint in the private sector, Zain founded Alliances Consulting Group Inc. in 1989. In addition to consulting for Fortune 100 companies in various business sectors with multiple locations throughout Canada, he travels internationally to consult with private enterprises, telephone companies and other industry-related companies.
His practice areas include Strategic Planning for Information Communication Technology (ICT) including technology transformation and implementation; competition and marketing strategy for Telcos and other businesses, Network Based (web-based) software development, Executive mentoring, and management/ICT related training. Alliances as a firm has established several strategic partnerships in Canada and globally in order to support client engagements.
As an Information Technology professional and a CMC, Zain has professional affiliations with the Canadian Telecommunication Consultants' Association (CTCA), the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CAMC), and the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO), focused in the bridging of the Digital Divide between the developed and developing economies.
Zain has served on the Board of the CTCA as a director and helped in organizing many educational conferences. He has been actively involved with strategy group of the CAMC and presently its co-chair. Globally, Zain is the First-Vice Chair for the Program Development & Training Management Committee overseeing training and development programs for Member Countries of the CTO. Also, Zain has taught undergraduate courses at the Ryerson University in Toronto, in the faculty of Information Technology and Management. Also, for the CTO he has conducted over 100 courses and workshops for Common wealth member countries in emerging technologies, networks and management. He has over 10 years experience working in Africa.
