Serena is an American who was born in Bonn Germany and spent a lot of her childhood in Europe. Having put herself through University by writing software, she then began her professional career in 1995 at a
$50 million technology venture capital fund. She has worked 15 years in high tech and telecomms market ranging from initial investment reviews at the venture capital firm to managing a cable broadband ISP, creating the product portfolio at BT IGNITE Netherlands, and corporate development/strategy at Orange Netherlands. No matter the platform of Internet, mobile, live or recorded, content rights and acquisition were always involved.
While in Amsterdam at the cable broadband ISP the website Amsterdamlive.nl was launched which carried live concert events occurring in the city through a multicast HD IP digital camera. Some events had up to 3 cameras which were IP encoded on the spot.
She negotiated rights with Universal studios for mobile music content at Orange Netherlands and was responsible for 3rd party content agreements at Zuku here in Kenya.
She has lived and worked in Korea, Germany, England, The Netherlands, Greece and now Kenya. She has had further projects in South Africa, Senegal, Kosovo, Albania, Norway and St. Maarten.
