Onajite has worked in various industries. She started her career in Aula Marina an Oil and Gas Servicing firm, and proceeded to Citibank where she spent over 3 years in the Operations department. Specifically she managed the customer service point of the bank’s e-purse product. Onajite later joined Intermarc Consulting Limited. Here she served in various capacities as a Partner. She was the conference director of Card Expo West Africa, an annual conference for cards and payments in West Africa. She was the pioneering Editor in Chief of Card Technology Africa Magazine, and the brain behind Card East Africa an annual conference introduced in her time for the collective representation of the East Africa region.
Driven by a bigger vision, Onajite left Intermarc to established Nexsmart Technology Limited, a training and consulting firm In August 2007, as she saw the need to fill the vacuum in payment skills acquisition and development in the Country.
Through this medium she realized that there was a greater need for the companies in e-payment to come together and meet on a common ground. She liaised with all the important persons in the industry who bought into this vision and the E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria was born in September 2009. Onajite Regha was then appointed as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Association.
The E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria which started barely six months ago now have over 50 members including all the major switches in Nigeria, most of the big banks and all the important card companies. The Association immediately started tackling issues on behalf of the e-payment industry. On the front burner of the Association are issues such as Interoperability, Driving POS, Cyber Crime, etc.
Onajite has traveled wide in the interest of developing the e-payment business in Nigeria and she has done a lot of lectures, presentations and writing in respect to the same topic. Currently Onajite works in several committees in the financial industry and writes in several publications. She serves on the board of various e-payment companies and is also is a member of the advisory board of Aitech West Africa Conference 2010.
Onajite is happily married with 3 kids. She enjoys reading, coaching and travelling.
