Mr Muriuki Mureithi is an independent ICT consultant based in Nairobi, Kenya with a passion to help exploit the benefits of ICT in Africa with a career now spanning 25 years firstly, in telecommunications company - Kenya Posts and Telecom (12 years) and independent ICT consulting 13 years. The focus of consulting is policy, regulatory and strategy evolution of ICTs in Africa with special focus on the rural and disadvantaged. This has emanated from activities with UN agencies, and governments, Civil Society and operators and suppliers. Key projects have involved cellular operators, rural ICT development, regulatory reform, market analysis and competitive issues in markets in Eastern and Central Africa with Summit Strategies Ltd, which he founded ten years ago. He was a member of the High Level Working Group on ICTs that designed the African Information Society Initiative (AISI) in 1996 .
Mr Mureithi has presented widely in national and international conferences on ICT issues. He has also published in international ICT journals and specialized publications. Mr. Mureithi has an Executive MBA in Strategic Management and post Graduate Certificate in Telecommunications Management from Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ) USA in addition to other courses on ICT and management.
