Michael Dearham heads up international sales and acquisition of library content at M-Net and is the curator of M-Net’s ground-breaking African Film Library.
He received formal training in radio communications and political science and has held a number of consultancy posts within the South African government and international donor community.
He is credited with a string of leadership positions at various trade associations including Sithengi, South Africa’s - National Film and Video Foundation and several civil society cultural industry research initiatives. He has directed and judged at several African and international film festivals, in 2005 he received the prestigious Prince Claus Foundation award – (an initiative of the Dutch government) for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of the African film industry.
