MICHAEL KING’ORI MACHARIA GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND FOUNDER OF SEVEN SEAS TECHNOLOGIES
Mr. Michael Macharia, born in March 1975, is a founder and Group CEO of Seven Seas Technologies (SST) group. He is a true entrepreneur in the real sense having founded SST at the young age of 25 Years. Today the company has a top-line revenue of $ 15M USD year ended 2008 ,80 Staff and Capital base of $5 Million.
Mr. Macharia has steered the SST Group to what it is today through sheer innovation, Vision, Commitment, Passion and ability to predict future technology trends in the market. and qualified as a Chartered Accountant , He worked for his first and only employer for three (3) years, Comtech Systems (a former IT company owned by the Aga Khan Development Network), where he joined as an Accounting Intern and eventually held the role of Finance Manager sitting at the Board and later as Sales Manager where he was responsible for the company’s 80% sales revenue .
With this knowledge and participation in a plethora of Global Technology & Management forums, Retreats, Seminars and Vendor events on a Global Landscape ranging from Telcom Business Transformation, Consulting and Talent acquisition in the ICT world, and having done business with Global companies ranging from the US to the India Silicon Valleys, Mr. Macharia has been instrumental in growing the SST Group to be a provider of integrated business, technology and education solutions in partnership with Global partner - some of the Technology Industry leaders including SUN Microsystems, Cisco, Symantec, Checkpoint, VMWare, QAD, Tibco, EMC and Oracle among others. The SST Group has been awarded several accolades by major vendors in its strive for excellence, performance and growth.
He has also overseen the company expansion to Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia as well as signed up major customers including the regions largest Telcom Companies, Banks and Government Institutions. He has also overseen the development of the company skill base currently at 75+ Permanent & High skilled multi-cultural workforce and invited a prominent Kenyan Venture Capital Partner, Mr. James Gachui on board as the Company Chairman and recently secured private equity funding of $5M USD from Aureos capital (http://www.aureos.com/) a Global Private equity Fund. He plans to take Seven Seas public in 2011 . Projected Top line revenue is projected then at $ 50M with an EBITA of $9M.
Mr. Macharia is set on steering the SST Group towards the path of delivering global IT Services on a high tech global delivery platform using world class skills, processes and tools.
He had always been passionate about technology and ways technology can be used to leverage and transform Africa the way we live, work ,play & Govern.
Mr. Macharia is married to Connie, and is an avid golfer , architecture enthusiast and has long term plans of building an Architectural Firm that will be involved in projects that redefine African Architecture .
