Dr Katharine Vincent is a social protection consultant for the Regional Hunger and Vulnerability Programme, a UKAID and AusAID-funded regional programme that operates in the Southern African Development Community and promotes social protection (and particularly cash transfers) as a means of reducing predictable and recurrent hunger. Her particular interest is in the use of innovative electronic systems to deliver cash transfers, and she has researched this field and provided technical advice to the governments of Swaziland, Lesotho and Mozambique.
