Julius Opio is the Head of Sales East & North Africa region in SEACOM. He has over 16 years experience as a commercial manager in the telecommunication and FMCG industry. He is in charge of SEACOM’s business in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Egypt, Sudan & Somalia. He previously worked for Zain Group for 5 years and was based in Bahrain, as the Head of SME Segment in Africa & Middle East . Julius was instrumental in developing and implementing SME strategies for the mobile operator in Kenya, Africa & Middle East eg. One Network, Blackberry, Roaming, Data / Broadband solutions etc.
He has also worked as Head of Sales/ Marketing - East Africa Region in the FMCG industry for a number of multinationals i.e Henkel, Reckitt Benckiser & GlaxoSmithkline. Julius holds an undergraduate degree in Economics & Sociology from Egerton University and an MBA from the United States International University – Nairobi, Kenya.
