As Media Research & Monitoring Director in Synovate Pan Africa, Joe is at the core of advertising and media development in at least 6 Africa countries, through the provision of major insights that drive the industry. This includes defining best practice in media strategy, determining ROI (return on investment) from communication activities, and delivering powerful insights from a combination of advertising expenditure data and audience ratings.
Joe has broad management experience in business and marketing, with a focus on campaign and account management and marketing communications. His career in advertising began with a practical course in video production and graphic animation. He was one of the pioneers of computer generated animation in TV commercials in Kenya.
He has been in the publishing business and has run an advertising agency for 5 years before joining AY&R Group as new business leader and account manager, where he also successfully completed the Y&R Advanced Seminar in Advertising Skills course.
With 15 years experience in the media and advertising industry in Kenya, he has gained proven skills dealing with major multinational and local blue chip companies, as well as brands in the telecommunications, energy, financial and FMCG sectors.

MEMBERSHIP IN PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES:
Joe is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya and The Public Relations Society of Kenya.
He is an active Rotarian and heads Rotary’s PR Group that covers the entire African continent. He is a Past Assistant Governor in Rotary District 9200 which consists of 5 countries, namely Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Eritrea.
He has sat on the judging panel of the Public Relations Society of Kenya annual awards for 4 consecutive years, as well as the Eve Woman of the Year awards in 2006.
Joe is also a trained facilitator of experiential team building and leadership programmes.
