Ms Galpin has over 25 years experience in the IT industry. Her introduction to mobile money came about when she joined the team at Sagentia plc as the Development Manager, to develop and support the M-Pesa project shortly after its launch in Kenya. Her company, PAYG Solutions, uses mobile technologies to further improve cash flow and flow of money to promote GDP growth in other sectors such as agriculture and microfinance. Other projects which she has designed and managed include systems for Cambridge Assessment (UCLES) to distribute GCSE and A level results to all schools electronically, automated collection of forecast grades and processing of multiple choice papers, integrated web portal and Call Centre software for Autoglass and automatic meter reading using telemetry for Anglian Water. She studied Computer Science at the University of South Africa and worked for the Anglo American corporation for 10 years.
