Andrew Strachan is the Pre-Sales and Marketing Manager for SAP Africa Region. He is responsibile for all the Pre-Sales and marking acivities of SAP in Africa
Andrew was educated at Rondebosch Boys High in the Cape, and attended the University of Cape Town from 1987, graduating with a BSc majoring in Computer Science. He then worked in the auto-id industry for the following 7 years for Scantec, and then moved within the Datatec group into the e-commerce industry.
Andrew joined SAP in 2001 as an industry solution manager and has been responsible for the above mentioned industries since then. He has subsequently played a key role in SAP’s successes in the Government, Telecommunications, Utilities, Media and other markets. He has been extensively involved in the SAP projects in the local governments of Cape Town, Tshwane and the City of Johannesburg. In addition to these local government successes he has done extensive work in Telkom, ESKOM, DWAF and recently the SABC In Africa he has been extensively involved in many projects and engagements such as at the Mauritius and Botswana Tax authorities, Sonangol Oil in Angola, Zambia Government Obajan Cement, Mumias Sugar and many more.
Applying the experience gained throughout the phases of large implementations like these allows Andrew to do what he enjoys most, help to create and deploy solutions which are able to solve the particularly challenging demands of African organisations and to assist them to become the world class organisations that they strive towards becoming.
