Almerindo is the Director and founder of Silensec, a company providing consultancy services in information security and specialized ISO27001 compliance, technical security assessments and security training.
He holds an MSc in Electronic Engineering and a PhD in mobile computer security, both from the University of Naples (Italy). He is a senior academic at Sheffield Hallam University, UK, where he leads the MSc in Information Systems Security, in collaboration with the British Standard Institution (BSI) and the SANS Institute. He is also a member of the GIAC advisory board and a SANS Institute community instructor. He holds a number of professional certifications, including the OPST from ISECOM, the GCIH, GAWN and GCIA from the SANS Institution, and is a BSI-certified ISO27001 Lead Auditor trainer and auditor.
