Abdul Bakhrani is co-founder of Intersat Africa and has led the company from inception to where it is today. He has over 16 years experience in the satellite business and understands the industry extremely well. As CEO Abdul is the company visionary/strategist and leads both procurement and the research and development activities. In 2008 he opened the Dubai office to expand the international business. Abdul is passionate about bringing affordable and reliable information technology to rural areas. He is key driver behind the rural internet Kiosk project, which will bring solar powered internet connectivity to remote rural areas. Prior to founding Intersat, Abdul was Technical Director at Touch Screen Technologies between 1998 and 2001, where he developed touch screen kiosks and human interface for rural computer literacy. From 1994 until 1998, Abdul owned a satellite reseller business in Mombasa. He started his professional career in the footwear industry and holds the Kenyan nationality.
