TriFour Health CEO, Johan Odendaal presented a talk on the relevance of ICT in African Hospitals giving practical examples of working solutions in private hospitals like Avenue Health (AHC) where TriFour Health recently installed a country-wide Health Management & Information System (HMIS) with amazing results, proving new technology can leapfrog existing paradigms in Africa.
They were tasked to install TriMed, an integrated web-based HMIS at the hospital in Nairobi serving five on-line remote feeder clinics in Mombasa, Kisumu, and Thika using 3G networks provided by Safaricom.
AHC now manages patient throughput, daily billing and stock movements at each clinic in real time, or consolidate results and statistics for the group. An Electronic Patient Records (EPR) system is also shared across all facilities.
The use of mobile 3G mobile communication and modern web-based solutions has facilitated faster implementation, a sustainable network and high customer satisfaction, proving a better and more robust solution than conventional technology.
New modules in the TriMed suite include Occupational Health, and Wellness for the management of patients living with HIV/Aids, TB and other chronic diseases.
TriFour can be viewed at the AfriHealth Conference at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, where they are exhibiting their IT solutions for private, public and industrial hospitals and clinics.
